SUSTAINABILITY IN FASHION

 SUSTAINABLE BRANDS

1. Rengé

Rengé started in February 2016, and our goal was concise from the very beginning. For women to have access to conscious, luxe, everyday clothing. With Rengé, it’s possible to feel pretty, feminine and bad ass all at the same time. Their mission is to make sure that no matter what they do, they do it thoughtfully, compassionately and responsibly.

Each collection has limited pieces because they buy the finest surplus fabrics from warehouses to reduce our carbon footprint. Pieces are made to order, and they offer custom fits for all styles, because they want every woman to experience Rengé.

For fabrics that need processing, they work with factories that follow the strictest social and environmental standards. Fabrics are dyed in Creative Dyeing & Printing, which is Oeko-Tex certified. Embroideries come to life in Hemla Embroidery, which is Sedex certified. Both factories are within a 3km radius from us, so from designing to finishing, garments don’t travel too far before they reach us. A part of their factory runs on solar energy, reducing emissions and complying with factory norms.

At Rengé they believe in bringing together their love for fashion and the welfare of street animals.

As of 2020, they plan to go season-less, and focus on what gives them most joy. Upcycling earth and skin friendly surplus fabrics and embroidering them to create unique pieces for us.

THEIR CONSCIENCE

Rengé is committed to supporting causes in India relating to the environment and animal rights.

BENEFACTORY

With 63 million people, India has the world’s highest number of people lacking access to clean water. Waterborne diseases alone cause more than 1600 deaths daily.
Benefactory is working to reach remote villages in India that report the highest rates of water-related illnesses and provide them with clean water to help lift them out of poverty. Access to clean water means education, income and health - especially for women and children.
Rengé in collaboration with Benefactory is helping provide clean drinking water specifically to rural villages in the Bharuch district of Gujarat. They do this by matching every donation you make. So every time they choose to donate at checkout, they match our donation. It’s that simple.

THE BACKWATER SANCTUARY

Founded in 2018, The Backwater Sanctuary is a nonprofit, committed to the successful rescue & rehabilitation of horses, ponies & donkeys suffering from abandonment, abuse or neglect, and to provide them with a safe home for retirement.
Through the Sanctuary the team oversees rescues, and hopes to increase public awareness of the level of abuse of equine animals in India.
They fell in love with Luigi from the moment they saw him. Donkeys are some of the most abused animals in India. Lucky for Little Luigi he’s found a safe home at The Backwater Sanctuary.

GUARDIANS OF THE VOICELESS

As part of their mission to be involved with animal rescue, Rengé also donates on a monthly basis to THE GUARDIANS OF THE VOICELESS. Guardians of the Voiceless (GOV) is a non-profit organization in USA that was formed with an aim to provide education opportunities and better health to the less privileged children. It is also involved in rescuing street animals to provide them with shelter and better life.

2. Liva

Here at Liva, they’ve always believed that the one thing that never goes out of style is you. It is your individuality that allows you to be comfortable in your own skin and truly love what you wear. But in this world of fashion, one almost always seems to have to choose between being comfortable and being fashionable. Well, to that we say, no more! With outfits made from Liva’s extremely light and breathable fabric, one can make sure that every fiber on their being feels just as good as it looks.
