  EMPHASIS Emphasis is the principle of art that helps the audience put the story of a painting together in their own minds. Any object or area of emphasis is called a focal point.  We all have such clothes in our closet which we have never worn from past years . I had one of them .  I had a plain white formal shirt which I wore twice and then its been in cupboard ssince two years . Being a student of fashion designing , I got an assignment to recreate a garment and hence I transformed the boring shirt into A NEW ONE . So starting with the steps - Step 1- I had cut the formal white shirt from middle and using only the bottom portion of the shirt  Step 2 - After cutting , I dyed the part of shirt into grey color and attached a elastic to it so that it stays intact from above. Step 3 - Next , I started with embroidery . So i decide to make yellow flowers at the bottom of the piece . And here , the piece is ready ! FINAL LOOKS Model Courtesy - My younger sister !   TESSELLATION A tessellation is created when a shape is repeated over and over again covering a plane without any gaps or overlaps . ASSIGNMENT Here I have used an envelope as my motif and hence further I have used hexagonal grid for the placement of my tesselation. This is my final tessellation

  TRUE COST OF FAST FASHION ? Out of 80 billion garments , 80% of the garments end up into landfills and the rest are reused and recycled further . All in all, the garment and textile industry is estimated to be worth some $3 trillion. And the bulk of that goes into the pockets of the owners of those fast fashion brands – many of whom appear in the Forbes rich list. Refinery29 reported that on average, people are buying 60% more items of clothing than they used to, therefore doubling clothing production from 2000 to 2014. Global fashion brands are bigger than ever, with annual revenues in the billions.
